Open your tracker in the BikeFinder app and select Modes to see the options available for your model. Use the descriptions shown in your app; options and behavior can vary with tracker model, firmware, and settings.
Choose a mode for how you use your bike
- Tracking: for searching for your bike or a short tracking test. More frequent position updates use more battery.
- Security: for routine use with movement notifications enabled.
- Standard: for routine use without movement notifications.
- Passive: reduces location updates where this option is available.
Check the selected mode and latest update time in the app after making a change. A previous position is not proof that a new update has arrived.
Battery life and update timing
Battery life depends on the model, activity, mode, surroundings, and temperature. A fixed runtime or update interval should not be assumed for every tracker.
Check battery level and update timestamps in the app. For missing updates, follow the position troubleshooting guide.
Movement alerts and insurance
For phone settings, see phone notifications.
If you have insurance, check your current policy's operating requirements before changing mode. A mode selection alone does not establish that all conditions for cover are met.
