How movement detection works

Modified on Mon, 12 Oct at 2:39 PM

Your tracker detects activity on the bike. The selected mode and tracker state affect how that activity leads to position updates or notifications.

Activity does not always mean theft

Wind, handling your bike, or movement from nearby bikes on a shared rack can cause activity. Review the alert and recent tracker information rather than treating every movement alert as proof of theft.

Check the timestamps of the latest positions in the app. An earlier position does not establish where the bike is now.

Set up movement alerts

Choose Security mode where available and enable the relevant app and phone notification settings. See tracker modes and phone notifications.

If alerts or updates seem wrong

Use the position troubleshooting guide. For help, contact support with your tracker model, recent timestamps, and a description of the activity you noticed.

If your bike has been stolen, follow the stolen-bike guide.
