Update your tracker firmware

Modified on Mon, 12 Oct at 1:42 PM

Use the BikeFinder app to check whether a firmware update is available for your tracker. Follow the instructions shown for your model.

Before starting

  • Update the BikeFinder app to its latest available version.
  • Charge the tracker using the instructions for G1 or G2. Follow any battery-level requirement shown by the app.
  • Turn on your phone's Bluetooth and allow the app's requested Bluetooth permissions.
  • Keep your phone close to the tracker with internet access available.

Install an available update

  1. Open the BikeFinder app and select your tracker.
  2. Open its Bluetooth options. If an Update tracker firmware option is available, select it.
  3. Follow the app's instructions and keep the phone close until it reports the result.

Available actions can differ by tracker model and app version. The absence of an update option does not by itself mean that the tracker is faulty.

If the update fails

Check the Bluetooth permissions, tracker charge, and app version. Read any error shown in the app. If G2 is not found nearby, its manual advises moving or gently shaking the tracker.

G1 red-light and charger-reconnection instructions should not be used to interpret G2 charging or to guess a G2 restart procedure. Use the manual for your model.

If it still fails, contact support with your model, IMEI, phone model, app version, and the exact error or a screenshot. Support will help identify the cause before recommending repair or replacement.
