The BikeFinder app has different modes for the BikeFinder tracker to locate the bike.

Tracking Mode:

In this mode, your tracker will send position updates as often as possible. The positions are available in your app, the latest shown in map, and the older positions are shown in "history". You will not get any push notifications in the app in this mode.

Battery life: Short, less than a week

Security Mode:

In this mode, the Bikefinder tracker will send positions every 10th minute, as long as it is moving. That means that when you get a position, the tracker will sleep for 10 minutes, and then it will be ready for movement activation again.

During those 10 minutes, the tracker will not react on movements until the 10 minute timer runs out.

In security mode, you will get push notifications in your app.

Battery life: Medium, up to 2 weeks

Standard Mode:

This mode is excactly the same as the Security mode, except that you do not get the push notifications in your app. This can be used for when you still want some positions whilst riding the bike, but also want to save battery.

Battery life: Medium, up to 2 weeks

Passive Mode:

This mode is made for disabling the BikeFinder tracker. It will never give you a GPS position. The tracker is on and can be activated by movement, but the tracker sleeps for 20 minutes between every movement.

Battery life: Long, up to 8 weeks

To change modes:

1. Open the tracker in your BikeFinder app.

2. Go to "modes".

3. Swipe to change to the mode you want.

4. Press activate.

5. New mode is now selected.

Rules for when the tracker will switch modes:

- If the tracker is in Tracking mode, this switch is instantly.

- In Standard or Security mode, this switch takes 10 minutes from last GSM or GPS position. this means that the tracker will not react on movements until this 10 minute timer has run out.

- In Passive mode, this switch takes 20 minutes from last GSM or GPS position. This means that the tracker will not react on movements until this 20 minute timer has run out.
